Mandrel bent or not?

I just got the full turbo-back exhaust from Buschur, had it sent to my buddie shop. He said it aint mandrel bent. He may be on crack, I dont know. Can anyone verify this? I don't think they would adv. this on their website if it wasn't mandrel bent.

Do you have pictures? It's not mandrel bent unless the piping is of uniform size throughout the bends, etc. Non-mandrel will have dent type marks where they are bent.

looks good to me......

I would say your best bet at getting an answer would be to post on the message board there since Dave himself answers the posts or just call and ask for him.

Yep, if it wasn't mandrel bent then the inside corners would have crinkles where the metal was slightly folded.

I have attached a pic of my Buschur exhaust. There are no folds. The only abnormality are the rings before and after every bend. My guess is this is where they attach the equipment to perform the bends. Notice the banding in the pic. I am sure someone on this board can confirm if these are common in the mandrel bending process.

That is absolutely mandrel bent.. The metal would have folds in the inside corners of any bend if it was not.. sort of like the folds you get in your stomach when you sit down and hunch over.. We as humans need to be mandrel bent..

And yes.. the defects you see are caused by the fixtures that the pipe is held by.. as long as their not real deep (affecting the diameter) Its actually caused by a small amount of metal "Flowing" towards the fixture when its being worked.. as long as it doesnt affect the inside diameter of the pipe, or have very drastic kinks from really sharp corners (sharp corners in themselves would cause a restriction) at that point, you should be OK..

It's definitely mandrel bent. Ring marks are from jig used to hold tubing during bending process.

Has any put in the air intake from Bushur and experience a suction sound in the defraust vents in the cabin. I put in a full 3" bushur exhaust and intake Sunday. Next week I will do the manual boost and AFC. I am wondering is this is a side effect of the air intake if so the old box goes on with a drop in filter.

Had to turn the boost down 2psi after installing. Less lag, great sound but may be a bit too loud for some. I couldn't beleive how heavy the stock exhaust is, good lord ! Gonna get the hiflow cat by Friday and see if there is any diferference in noise and or performance. Also geting the Buschur filter kit and hopefully they will have the mini battery too.

Just talked with the guys at Buschur. Well no mini battery yet but I got the air filter coming and decided to hold off on the hiflow cat, I like how it sounds.

Quick question off topic, Apexi S-AFC, anyone now how to isntall and tune it? Kinda new to it, I understand it's fucntionality but need a little insight.
