I thought you use Dinosaur oil for the first 1500miles, it picks up more junk. after 1500miles, use synthetic! That is what I am doing with mine, starting today.

change oil after

first 20 miles
at 500 miles
at 1500 miles.

Dyno oil ONLY 10-30
then 20-40 with balance shaft eliminator kit.

Those are the rules I was told, and the ones I am sticking with.

it is not a good idea to break a motor in on synthetic oil. it has to much load carry capcity which doesn't allow the rings to seat properly with the cylinder walls. We always ran cheap oil for the break in period

How are you measuring blow by to determine it's a problem? If you're stock, how do you know how much blow by you have?

Based on my experience with several built motors and factory rebuilds in my 2g, I would change the oil even more often than that. The 20 is good. If I'm feeling ambitious though I do it after heat cycling it twice to check for leaks. I do it again at 100, 500, 1000, and 2500, then go to regular 2500 mile intervals. Roughly. I think I change my philosophy slighty each time I go through it. Cheap oil is ok, but use good filters. I usually do the filter at the 20, 500, and 1k mark IIRC.
