Clutch question

How can you tell if the clutch is starting to go? i'm not quite sure what slipping means.

the pedal feels pretty lifeless...it engages way up top but when i push in the clutch the rpms drop instantly...except for this morning when the car bucked when i pushed the clutch in...that has happened only once.

The clutch does engage fine when starting from stop...just that the engagement happens way up top..probably an inch before fully letting out the clutch.

Also i'm getting very loud chatter now in 4th and 5th gear and goes away as soon as i push in the clutch. before the chatter only used to happen at idle after i started the car in the morning when it was cold.

I have about 38K miles on the stocker with probably about 2-3 launches. had the ems, cams installed a month and a half back.

thanks

probably a good sign the clutch is out.... if you push on the gas and there is a delay before acceleration, that is the clutch slipping, or at least what it feels like. usually happens in the higher gears first. its time to upgrade, preferably before you mess something up with the a bad clutch
