Did you use new tranny fluid? How much did you use? What kind did you use?

Possibly bent/broke your shift linkage...recheck it or replace it. Does anyone have any feedback on a braided one?

Sounds like a linkage problem because of the gears its happening in. Im going to assume its not an internal problem because shep is extremely reliable and its not a fluid problem cause youre not stupid when it comes to that, you know what to use and how much to put in.

I know that when i had my tranny out i ended up bending the brass linkgage connectors that are mounted to the tranny just from sliding it around. Its possible that the linkage responsible for 1st 3rd and 5th gear could have gotten tweaked from being out of the car for so long. I mean dude....Russ worked on it. Enough said.

Check the shifter cables and then make sure all the clips are in place that hold in the shift linkage.

Had the exact same symptoms and it was the shifter cable. Quick and easy fix.
