Question Evolution needs

Now im sure this has been answered countless times but im a new member.

I have a silver evo coming in May and the dealer doesnt know what type of gas it takes. It probably says in the manual but,
they lost the manual to the car in the show room!
Im 17 and i need to know what type of stuff is required for this car.

Thanks

The best you can feed it the higher octane the better. Cali has only 91 octane and they get a hp hit as a result. Feed it 93 or 94 if you can.

I can only get 93 here also some stations have 94 and you can get race gas @ 100 in some places but its like $6 a gallon. My point being the higher the octane you give it the more it will advance the timing and then more power.

The manual recommend premium. Thats all it says.

I use Sunoco Ultra (94 Octane) However anything 91 or over (premium) is what is recommended, the more octane, the better.. I've even seen a few people mix in a few gallons of unleaded racing gas (Sunoco 114 Unleaded or Cam2 unleaded) if their going up to the track and they want to run more boost.

Dude, I'm in Columbus. I found a Sunnoco with 94 octane. Just across Broad Street on Philipi. Well, Philipi changes to a road I can't remember but it's a straight shot.

I was 16 when I got my first high performance ride, brand new 944 Turbo S. Not every kid is an idiot driver. Have some faith in this guy.

I'm 30 and still waiting on my evo... The won't be available here until October, but then again we do get all the goodies with it, so in a way it's worth the wait. I wish I had an Evo at 17

Sunocos & Texacos generally have very high octane gas. All of the Texaco Stations I have run into sell at least 93/94 and a bunch in Minneapolis sell 100/104.

eesh. We need to have this thread again, or should I just resurrect the last "why kids are dangerous behind the wheel of an Evo" thread?

Are you going to college or plannning on it? Dam your parents must be very generous or you must make mad loot to afford a $30,000 car and insurance! Parents definitely don't instill any money values into kids these days. I never thought about buying a $30,000+ car at 17, I was more concerned with getting a good education, a good job and a nice house. No wonder more kids are in debt these days! In a way I am jealous but at the same time this is why insurance and accidents keep increasing, kids don't seem to realize they are driving a weapon and you can kill yourself and others. I know I am straying off the question you asked but everyone answered it already and I need to vent. I just thought it was strange that you threw in your age because a 35 year old could have the same question. I work my butt off to pay for my family, house, car, & insurance... consider yourself lucky for owning a sweeeeeet car and drive safe!
