Yes, I have driven and owned other cars. Before the tme I used to have an e36 m3 with a sachs suspension kit. I have also driven wrxs and STis, one GTR, and E46m3, Porsches and Elises. In fact I still own a Lotus Europa and occasionally drive karts. If you like the stock suspension, good for you. If you want to get more power, please disregard what I have written. I was just trying to relate my experiences.
Personally, I get more kicks turning the car than accelerating it, but thats just my personal preference

If you wanna be the devils advocate, I'm sure you can find enough comparisons to make the EVO8 suspension seem "no good", But whats really the point? I'll agree with you that the EVO suspension can be improved but unless you are going to give me a laundry list of supercars, exotics or all out race cars, it can hardly be called "no good". Don't you agree? Hey, as far as going fast around turns, that's great... I like it too. Frankly, I'm dying to get to Deal's Gap again soon (ever hear of it? its over 300 turns in 11 miles with no intersections, between NC and TN). I really enjoy good handling cars too. My angle is that 99.% of folks cannot get close to the limits of their stock cars (even econoboxes). Even the majority of enthusiasts cannot drive to the limits of their cars. I know that I can't... I've tried it, been there, done that. Nothing wrong with that, not everybody can be a first rate hot shoe
It's just for the average joe that a boost controller of a better exhaust will give them more bang for the buck... Guys like you are really more the exception than the rule (I'm prolly gonna get flamed to no end by all the fast 'n furious wanna bees...), you are right in that you can use and deserve the best suspension up-grades that money can buy, I'm just speaking out for the rest of us.Peace,
Manuel
Manuel,
I understand where you are coming from. My understanding is that good suspension (not just coilovers) allows any driver (average or otherwise) to drive at a higher level. You don't have to get to the limit of the car but raise your own limit. A good suspension set-up should be confidence inspiring and progressive.
I am by no means a skilled driver, I think I only push the car to 75-80% of its true potential. In fact, I put in better times with the car on lower than max. boost settings. Its just easier to be smooth in corners.
Most importantly, have fun with your car

Absolutely! I agree with both of you. I know I kinda killed this thread with the suspension and brakes idea (they do afterall cost more than $500...sorry). But I think that 3171 hit it right on the head. The better your car handles, the more confidence you have in planting your foot. With more confidence you tend to push the envelope a little more, hence learning at a faster rate. And of course, who on this forum wouldn't want extra power to the wheels. I would. I think, however, that most people on this forum would enjoy going sideways more than going straight, no matter how fast they run the quarter in. More g's from different angles usually means more fun! (either that or passing out he he he)
