Performance Guidance

Basics:
2004 Evo VIII (6300 Miles)

Goal:
6 speed transmission
11 second (or better) quarter mile
Reliable / Clean setup

Facts:
I do not know much about cars, never have been my fortay. Want a setup that can be supported by one of the local tuners (Boise, ID) so Idaho Speed Center and Revtech Motorworks. Have plenty to spend and really want to see my car become the land missile it can be.

Any help would be much appreciated, should I turn it over to the tuners and let them build something they feel comfortable with? Or do you recommend a particular setup that I can have them install.

Thinking Team Rip for the 6 speed tranmission, would I need other components from them as well?

Thanks in advance, I apologize I don't know more and am coming to this community as a knowledge *****.

Jon

The 5 speed will be better for 1/4 mile times.

Was thinking that with 6 gears it would be easier to stay in the turbo. Again, I am a nub when it comes to cars. Just know that after 2 years the Evo doesn't feel as fast as it used to haha.

If you plan on 11 second 1/4 mile times you can get that in the stock 5 speed transmission while staying in 4th gear. With the 6 speed you will have to make another shift into 5th right toward the end of the 1/4 mile.
