2 part A/F ratio?
2 part A/F ratio?
Hi Guys,
Was just wondering about my A/F ratio. First off I just want to say I got flashed and I know that a good safe A/F ratio would be between 11 and 12. And I know when boosting that the A/F ratio will drop lower.
Anyways my question is 2 part.
1. Should I trust the A/F ratio reading on my Apexi Turbo Timer?
2. If it is right, I was wondering what is most peoples A/F ratio while cruising without the heavy boost. Mine keeps on reading a ratio of 14.5-14.7. Was wondering if that is normal.
Thanks all for help.

1. its a narrow band O2 sensor that has a 0-1Volt reading
2. 14.7 is stoch ratio, where the fuel and air make a perfect burn. 14.7 parts of air and 1 part fuel. the ecu always tries to get that target ratio in closed loop operation, where it reads the a/f numbers of the O2 sensor. closed loop operation is in partial throttle. when you exceed a certain position on the throttle, the ecu goes in open loop operation, where it reads the a/f numbers off the map.
