A boost/efficiency question

Hey everyone. I just recently purchased an 03 Evo 8. Very impressive vehicle, I must say. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about this car, as there is a lot to know. Currently, the car has an ecu reflash, a safc, a buschur 3" exhaust, ,a cai, a recirc. bov, a high flow cat, and a mbc.

I have a quick for anyone who is knowledgable in the area. First off, I seem to be experiencing a loss of about 2-3psi in boost between 6,000rmp and 7,000rpm, no matter where the boost is set. So, I currently have the boost set at around 23psi so that I can maintain 20psi at redline. I do not know if the fuel pump is stock, but I it is definetlely easily audible from inside the car at idle. I do believe that I have the turbo with the smaller hot side also. I'm not sure how realiable the safc is for monitoring knock, but I usually have very low counts of knock as well at this boost level. How safe is the boost level I am currently running with this setup? Also, at what point does this turbocharger in particualr begin to lose its efficiency or start producing excessive amounts of heat?

Thanks in advance for all your help.
