Buddy of mine was just informed by TRE that his IX tranny was the all time record holder for blown parts that they ever seen! They told him that his tranny would be put in the record books. TRE thought it was the tranny off of ISP's drag evo. I believe TRE is going to post with the details and pics soon.

List of known broken parts:

1st-3rd gear and syncros
transfer case - shredded
front diff - destroyed
output shaft - split into 2
tranny casing - 5" circle around axle looked like it was cut with a torch
more to come

I guess this is what happens with a 7k, 15psi dump with 3" of vht on launch pad and 21 psi in all four tires:

He did a burn out and proceeded to the line. MIR just laid a fresh coat of vht down and he hit the 2-step and let it go and Snap!!! Car didn't even move an inch. Lessons learned, don't dump and 7k and 15 psi.

I broke my half shaft at MIR also - its a very stickey track

 

On my first DSM, I snapped my rear halfshaft (3-bolt) doing a 1.63 60' on my first ever trip to the drag strip, which also was at MIR. Ah, back when 12.6 was fast!
