SoCal Clutch Questions
SoCal Clutch Questions
I have a 2003 Evo 8 with almost 24K miles on it, still on the original clutch. The last couple of weeks I've noticed that it has been more difficult to transition the clutch into 1st gear and reverse when I am starting from a standstill. I mean that the car has been wanting to stall and I feel like I need to apply more gas than in the past to start the car rolling. When I am at speed I have no problems changing from 1st to 2nd gear and so on.
Does this mean my clutch is almost worn out and that I need to replace it (and any other parts like the flywheel)?
If so, can someone recommend a place in or near Los Angeles where I can get a good deal on a good replacement and also have the work done by someone who knows how to treat an Evo?

The car's engine and drivetrain are all still stock. The warranty just ended, so now I feel more free to deviate from OEM equipment; if the price, quality, and service are better. I'm not planning on adding any power to the stock powerplant. I'm already thinking about transitioning to a Skyline GT-R, so I'll need a couple more good years out of a clutch.
