my friend gave me his EGT gauge and probe out of his SRT-4. whoever installed it in his srt put it in the downpipe and it wasnt screwed in, it had a clamp around it and put in the downpipe. the clamp came with the egt gauge. now i wana install it in my manifold and tap the hole so i can bolt it in, but theres no threads on the probe? anyway i can still get to do this?

 

My guess is there's a piece that the probe fits through and then screws onto a fitting that you've tapped into the mani.
