Finally installed my Exedy Twin, w/ a couple of pics

Well it was a pain and took longer than I wanted it to. Never will do it again. And I will try to break this down easily:

Pros: I got it done

Cons: 1)Took from Fri night(like 2.5/3 hrs), Sat(12hrs -breaks), Sun(8hrs -breaks), Mon(3/3.5 hrs);
2)Didn't get transfer case lube(didn't think I was going to drain it);
3)Cut lower rad hose at that hard pipe; Took 8 hrs to finally get the tranny back on;
4)Tore up the tie-rod bushing(had to special order be here tomorrow)

So I did everything by myself, up until droping out the tranny and putting it back in. The help I had with that is my friends dad, who is a mechanic. If he wasn't there, it would not have gotten done.

Everything was done Sun night, but I had to buy the rad hose, rad fluid and transfer case fluid on Mon. Thats why there is some time from Mon. night. And since it was in the still in the air I also changed my oil and my spark plugs. To that was kinda a plus.

Now about the clutch, it a graby son of a *****. Starts to engage about 2 to 3 inches off the floor and is strong. Its heavy, but not bad. The chatter isn't bad either, I mean you can definitly hear it. I like the noise between shifts, but not at a stop with the clutch disengaged. That seems really loud.

And from a dead stop, its hard getting used to, but if I am rolling a little, still in first, its a lot smoother. Monday and Tuesday I was getting a lot of that jerking from 1st gear, but thats kinda gone now (I have about 100 miles on it). Still hard on hills though, Its like learning how to clutch all over again.

I don't know, I guess thats it. But I would never do it again, just sucked too much.

And after it broken in, I am getting it retuned and going right to the track. I think I will break 11's, but we will see.

Congrats on your accomplishment. That tranny is heavy as hell. I think I lost 5lbs from sweating just trying to get the tranny back in.

Thanks guys.

VIIII - Sure, and maybe I will get Evil_Evo_VIII and Boostwhore to come too, but I doubt Boostwhore will run.

and if we didn't have such a hard time getting the tranny back on, I would have been driving it Sunday night, but no, it had to suck. That was the hardest part, everything else was pretty much cake.
