Does anyone know the weight savings on the Ultimate Racing 3" exhaust? I tried emailing them, but I never got a response.

Not sure in exact weights, but the UR exhaust has got to be at least 20lbs lighter than stock.

No different than any other modification to include the cat-back. The failure must be directly attributable to the modification to void the warranty. Don't let anyone BS you into believing otherwise.

Can you document that the cat-back alone has identical flow characteristics to the stock system and therefore has caused no changes to A/F settings, spool-up characteristics , or boost pressures? If the flow rates are greater, and performance is enhanced as a result, and the failure is attributable to the increased performance, it will void your warranty just as effectively as a full turbo-back system. There is no caveat to the warranty stating that exhaust modifications that only produce XX HP are covered and those that produce anything greater than XX HP are not. They all increase performance and therefore all share the potential to void your warranty under certain circumstances.

If the modifications did not enhance performance, we would not install them. We assume a calculated risk when choosing and installing modifications that they will not be the cause of catastrophic failures that would require warranty coverage to repair. Until the factory offers the modifications under a warranty the risk will remain.

If you are worried that much about your warranty, keep the car stock until coverage has expired.

i say.... to HELL with my warranty... to hell with all our warranties... if there is a major defect in our cars they better recall them and fix them.. other than that my warranty is basically 80% voided =P

Exactly right. Here's a little blurb I wrote with more details about this.

No boost creep whatsoever on our shop Evo with full 3" no-cat exhaust.

Dan,

That is exactly what I was referring to but could not remember the details. Thanks for the link.

This may have been covered in other threads, do you always get a service engine soon light when you remove the CAT and use a test pipe?
