Question MoTec - Mitsubishi Centre Diff Controller

Is anybody using one of these Yet??? If so, whats your experience???

From link... http://www.motec.com.au/what.htm

MoTeC is proud to announce the release of the MoTeC MDC - Mitsubishi Diff Controller.

MoTeC's Mitsubishi Diff Controller (MDC) replaces the factory fitted Active Centre Diff (ACD) controller. It is a bolt in replacement making use of the factory mounting points.

The MoTeC MDC is suitable for EVO 7, 8 and 9s fitted with the ACD system from the factory. The MDC can be used in cars fitted with the ACD/AYC (Active Yaw Control) but the AYC will be disabled.

There are six selectable control modes, 0%, 100% and four user configurable modes. The control modes can be cycled through using the factory dash mounted ACD button. To prevent unauthorised copying of configuration data, configurations cannot be read out of the MDC.

i wonder what the different modes do? do they change the ratio of power to the front or rear? can you make it 100% fwd or 100% rwd?

i dont think so. i think the stock system in the MRs and STIs will do at the best like 10-90 or something (i forgot the distribution) but i'm pretty sure it's not 0-100 or 100-0.

i wonder how much this costs.

This is an ACD ECU. All it does is control when the ACD clutch plates lock or release, how much pressure is applied, and how quickly it is applied. The 50/50 torque split is not altered, as it is fixed mechanically. You guys really need to study how our cars work before posting.
Cheers,

Very big 2nd. Read and learn before posting something you don't know as fact. EvoM already has more than enough misinformation.

^^^ Will third what these guys have said. I looked into this in Australia. It is really developed for group N (production) rally. Allows the way the ACD behaves to be controlled. As has been mentioned, the mechanical split of drive front and rear cannot be controlled. The amount that the ACD locks, and for how long and under what conditions, can. Not big gains to be had here for a street car IMHO.

Why do people still insist on saying that the ACD is different then 50/50?

Am surprised to be honest that MoTeC does not feature more in the US. It is an amazing ECU. Maybe a lack of support there. Noticed there was no support sub forum for them on this forum...
