So far nothing changed. I wish I could trust the guys at the mitsubishi dealers ... down here.

#2 Get a real oil presure gauge , if you have MORE than 5 psi@idle(IIRC) its your oil sending unit (or any thing in the loop from the sending unit to the ecu) . If you have LESS than 5 psi@idle(IIRC) , Start looking at the oil pan for dents , the oil pick up could be blocked . If no dents next steep is to drop the oil pan and look for blockage in the oil pick up screen ( I had a "tech" leave a shop rag under my valve cover , it wound up in the oil pan , stopped up my oil pump/pick-up and i lost oil psi ) . If you still dont find anything wrong start thinking about a new oil pump . Good luck .....
Oh i forgot to also say check the oil pressure bypass valve (a valve that opens @ or around 90psi to limit to much oil psi) , I heard they can get stuck open in some cases and that would cause low/no oil psi ..

Or it could be b/c your not using Mobil1 10/30 syn motor oil

j/k

get a oil pressure gauge... could just be a faulty oil pressure sensor.

Now I am using MOTUL 15W 50 Synthetic Oil. I think that we our weather here it will not hurt, it is very hot and humid the whole year. Mitsubishi told me use the Motul 20W 50 (because that is the only oil they sell there), but I think it is too thick.

I changed to MOTUL and the oil light still on. So I just ordered a new oil pressure sensor and if that does not work I will buy a new oil pump (although I think that if the oil pump was not working, my car would be broken by now as I was on the track driving under a 100F sun the whole weekend). The oil level is fine, and I did not find anywhere in the car signs of leaking.

After I change the oil pressure sensor I will let you know what happened. I am also getting an oil pressure gauge.

I'll bet you a futbol jersey that it's reason #2. You need 10w30 oil in the motor (full synthetic) - that's why 1) the owners manual requires it and 2) the oil cap on the motor has a sticker requiring it. http://www.castrol.com/castrol/castr...ountryselector

It is incredible, but Mitsubishi in Brazil told me to use Motul 20W 50, !
I guess they know more than Mitsubishi in the US!

So the only good oil I could get was the Mobil One 0W 40 which I used and it did not help and now I am using Motul 15W 50, which I think that for the hot weather down here it should be ok.

Case closed!

It was the oil pressure sensor that was broken. I found out that the water from the radiator is dripping from a hose that is right above the oil pressure sensor. The sensor oxidized and became blue (from the radiator coolant). I changed the oil pressure sensor and the pressure was ok, all the time. I will change this hose so that the water dripping does not brake another sensor tomorrow!

I went in the track yesterday, blasted the car and no problems at all with the oil pressure light coming up.

So if your oil level is OK, and your oil light is blinking, the first thing I would recomend doing is checking the oil pressure sensor, then the oil pump. That's it!

Thanks for all your help guys.

Case closed!

Yeah I need to check my sensor also because my car had the tranny out of if for about 4 months, when I put it in after driving hard at idle it would come on and flicker, then dissapear.

Never does it cold just driving it around and then at idle. Whats the part number for it?
