Is my clutch shot?

So my Evo IX has 1700 miles, and today I started from a stop normally and my RPMs started to climb, but I didn't go anywhere. It felt like how it would if your foot was slightly still on the clutch, but mine wasn't. It's happened about three times already. I drive my car like a grandma with the occasional WOT here and there, but I don't drive hard and go crazy with it. No launches, no nothing. Should I just take it to the dealer and tell them I dropped 30K on a car and my clutch is already shot at 1700 miles? I did a 4th gear and 5th gear pull on the freeway and it held perfectly, so I'm not entirely sure my clutch is fried. I've read about how the clutches on Evos are weak, but I didn't think it was like this. Hopefully if this is the case, they'll replace my clutch for free... otherwise this is bull****.

I say clutch, I say they should look at it. mine went out with 5K miles on it, with hard driving, yours may be defective.

wait did the rpms go up to like 1500 or so and then drop while u were stopped? That happens to me sometimes, but i am not stock either. If it isn't slipping in the higher gears then u should be ok i would think.

I usually start off the line at around 1200 and it dips to 1000, but sometimes I go up to 1500.
