Having a boost issue..need help

today is the day i desided to modify my car. i had a megan DP,cat delete,HKS highpower cat back,HKS RS intake,HKS upper intercooler pipe, HKS SSQBlowoff vavle,GReddy profec B spec 2 EBC,and a reflash. Everything was great for the first 45 minutes of my drive home. I stopped to pick up a soda and popped my hood to check/admire the new toys. The HKS upper intercooler pipe seemed to be comming loose at the bottom(opposite side of the TBody). I pushed it back in and tightened all the clamps. After i did that i drove off and it was all good. I then got on the car a bit and tried to make full boost (1.4 bar) at 1 point 2 bar i hit boost cut. it didnt do this b4. Any ideas?

get rid of the HKS bov, even recirced their POS. Forge motorsports and the stock evo 9 mr BOV's are great replacements to the stock unit. Now, you stated two bar, that is WAY to much boost for what you have done, your engine will knock and detonate like it its job. the equation is 14.9 psi per 1 bar. that means your trying to push your turbo to 29.8 psi. Unless your tuned on race gas you are destroying your motor. Set the boost at about 21-22 psi.

NM just read again
sorry I misred, try the boost leak test, you may be leaking boost at the IC pipe connect that is loose, try T bolt clamps rather than the stock hose clamps.

You need to take the car to a shop unless you have your own boost leak machine. Umm you hook a line to the turbos compressor outlet and pump say 26 psi of air into the turbo's compressor outlet, then listen for air or spray soapy water on all the hoses which attach to intercooler piping, etc.....also check the FMIC where the intercooler attaches to each pipe.....leak often occur there is you don't have proper clamps. Like I said a shop would help you greatly since you will need to remove your stock airbox and a few other things so a hose could be hooked to the turbo.... Good luck.

so after tightening everything down and checking all of my vacume lines i went out to fill up my tank so i can get to the shop tomorrow morning. The car made full boost and then made a small boom sound, the boost was gone and the check engine light came on.... then the car ran fine again, but i didnt aattempt to make full boost again. I did however turn off the boost controller and raan the stock wastegate boost pressure...9.5 psi and the car ran fine. no problems at all. it seems that the car only does this when it reaches the target boost the EBC is set for .... so it does it on high and low boost. but only when it hits its target PSI. Any suggestions?

Dump the EBC and get a Hallman Pro MBC. It is fool proof with no BS. You say a shop did the install for you? Then wait and take it back to them in the morning. let them figure it out. But get rid of the EBC they are way more trouble than they are worth IMO.

Ok got it all figured out. The HKS UIP cuppler was comming loose. the car would run fine until full bost was made. the cuppler would expand and leak air. the turbo tried to compensate and over boosted. problem solved thanks guys

Oh geezzz...the HKS bov is about the worst thing you can put on your car. You dont need it checked out, take off the AEM and HKS bov. Sell the HKS to a Honda guy, and then spend that money on a APS/Forge/IX BOV and a TUNE!
