Does this affect performance?

If after installing an MBC, these nipples aren't capped will this have any negative impact on the way my car (evo of course) will perform? You're suppose to cap these according to the installs I've read and the advice I've been given. What if you don't?

I found this pic in the how-to. Better than the one I took...

It wont affect performance at all, but if you ever want to put it back to stock, capping them will prevent them from being full of dirt and water and such.
