Problems, needs answers please

Well to make things short and to the point, my friends EVO 8 is having some issues. First thing is the car is studdering through out the rpm range. When you give it gas it starts to cut out through the tach. we think the car could be running toooo rich, due to open filter? what could it be? please help if possible.

Next the car will not rev past 4500 in 5th gear at 100 MPH. could it be fuel cut off do to geting to much gas? Any ideals?

Well the car has a boost controler, some gauges, OBX piping(IC,INTAKE), stock BOV and air filter adapter with cone. Tubor timmer.

Checked plugs, good gas (91 +), no air leaks, car boost fine, oil is good. Is there anything else we can check for?

What is the boost set at? Is there any engine management or is he just running un-tuned with those mods?

the boost is set at about 14-15, and no EMS , we are going to check the gap sunday. Also this just started to happen befor the OBX pipes. we took off the ssq BOV long time ago. Is there any thing else to look for? , give me a list of things if anyone has had this problem. Should we mess with the stock BOV? Taking any help

Any time you mess with the air intake you have to get it tuned

way to lean....that is why they have the fuel cut so you dont blow it up

Buy a fuel pump and get a "flash" and the car will be good to go....dont drive it anymore till you get this done...because you still can cause damage....like burn a hole in a piston

Oh and after the flash set your boost to 21pounds so the car will actually make some power...that thing must feel like a civic at 14 pounds hitting fuel cut
