Is it half a turn or a full turn for the hallman boost controller for every 1 psi?

The Hallman MBC is my choice, it works way better than the TurboXS MBC, I'm telling you that from experience. I've heard good things about the Forge MBC from other people but I don't have personal experience with it. The Hallman does not click like the Forge does but I don't see the need really.

When I had my old E8, I used the Hallman. I thought I remember reading that the controller had to be oriented so that the outlet nipple was facing downward.

well,

the turboxs is a bleed style, which is-a-no-good-a for the evo....

i have never had an issue with the hallman standing straight up.

Thats kinda odd.... Im not sure how gravity would affect a ceramic ball held by a spring...

I think it had more to do with the small bleed hole.

A bleeder valve type controller creates a leak in the line running to the wastegate. The larger the leak the more boost you get, but the larger the leak the more turbo lag you will get as well. The Hallman MBC blocks the signal before the wastegate until the internal spring pressure of the valve is overcome. At this point the signal can reach the wastegate and open it. Since the internal spring pressure is adjustable, you can increase boost. Since there is no leak with this system the turbo will spool as quick as it can for its size.

I'm pretty sure it comes with a Picture Diagram in the instruction manual. Mine is mounted Horizontally near the Intake/Air box with the adjustment knob pointing towards the exhaust manifold. I've seen people zip-tie it to a hose or bolt the clamp to the air box/chassis. Keep it close to the turbo, and keep the lines short.
