Pause in 3rd gear. Clutch?

Pause in 3rd gear. Clutch?
When I hit the throttle on my car going into third gear when it gets to about 4900rpm it pauses for a moment and then continues. Is this due to my clutch slipping or does anyone have any idea why that would happen?
