aem uego in test pipe bung?

Im thinking about installing a wideband and was wondering if i can just put it in the bung on the ams test pipe? I run the testpipe all the time and was thinking i can just get an electronic o2 simulator then put the aem sensor in the test pipe where i have an antifouler now? Saving me one less hole to make in my exhaust system and the check engine light should still remain off... sound good? any comments would help!

i believe they like to see it within the first 12inches , further down stream the slower the response . as far as the simulator they work

Mine is right next to the "stock" position 02 sensor (the one by the cat), maybe I put it in my test pipe. AMS said that is fine. thats why I put it there.

If you are running a cat, put it before that. If you're running a test pipe, anywhere at the end of the downpipe (recommended by AMS) or in the test pipe will work well.

I asked them when I bought it, 2 years ago? they said the location next to the rear 02 sensor is OK. Unless thru research, and other factors, they find that spot is NOT GOOD, I will move mine. I will keep my eye on this thread to see where you all put yours, and follow you. Is the cat delete pipe within the 3 feet?

12 " from turbo is what I was told for the most accurate as well as most stable reading...

Dont they put them at the end of the tailpipe when their tuning your car? or is that a different kind of wideband?

Yes they do. Dyno4mance got a reading out the tailpipe, and the A/F readings in the car were the same. but I also have a side-pipe which the motor burned out on the "flapper" so I was running out the sidepipe and tailpipe, but the sensor was still on the tailpipe. I have the same wideband. AEM UEGO.

AEM recomends putting the wide band sensor AT LEAST 36 inches down stream for turbocharged aplications.

Keith

PS: That is from AEM.... they are the ones who should know right?
