2 weeks to make a decision/bolt on turbo/subject covered to death/help
My current set up is a Vishnu stage 1++ or whatever it's called.
264/272 cams, cam gears, TBE, Exede,fuel pump,headers, O2 housing, 10.5 hot side.
I had a TME that blew the compressor wheel straight out the exhaust and I am sending it to FP to see if they can fix it. I will see if they have options as well.
I want to know what turbo options I have before I get tuned again. Here is what I know:
FP white rabbit
BR 20G
Vishnu not ready
Here is what I want:
I liked the linear feel of the TME over the stock turbo with a 10.5 housing. I could feel the difference from 2300 rpm to 3000 rpm and with transiant boost as well. I like to be on the freeway and not have to downshift. I still think the top end is important and want a 93 octane performer. I will get a race gas map this time as well.
What suggestions do you have for me? Thanks in advance,
Sigfrid

If it has to be within 2 weeks i say get the br20g. Spool up will be slightly slower but you will realize more topend when the tme is breathing hard on pump and even more so on race gas. If you want a huge upgrade, none of those are it.
Since your turbo is at FP...... maybe a WR-9. It uses the TME's hotside with a WR compressor wheel and a IX compressor housing. Some list member is getting just about 400WHP/400WT out of the thing. I think on pump gas. I can search to verify those figures for you.

Turbo
Thanks for the input. I would love to see some data on that turbo. I will talk to Robert this afternoon or Monday and discuss this with him.

Turbo
Vishnu is working on a turbo upgrade but has not released it yet as it is under testing. Shiv is coming to Houston in 3 weeks to do a tuning day and I want to have a turbo on my car for that event.

Turbo choice
I purchased the Evo9-WR as suggested. Dyno day is 10/14. We'll see how it works. Same dyno with my used TME gave me 310 monkeys. I'm hoping for 340 and a good curve. Sparky, if you have or know someone with data on the WR-9, please send it my way.
Thanks everyone. I will post my results with details and driving impressions in a new thread
