No problem man. Much better than goin to the stealer ship!
I had the same issue when my evo was new, they forgot to tighten the clamp at the turbo inlet and it was loose enough to spin around.... dealer fixed it but it sucked to sit on the side of the road as new sti drove past while I was waiting on the tow truck.

I was going to suggest IC pipe blow off. Same sound. Glad you found a fix.

It sounds like you are sucking in un metered air or have a big boost leak. Check all the connections between the airbox and the turbo. Then check all the intake plumbing connections and do a boost leak test.
Unmetered air would cause you to run way lean, big boost leak would cause you to run way rich.

Ditto for sure. We've had a few Evo's at our dealership with boost leaks like this. It's usually an IC pipe/hose/coupling depending on if you have factory piping or aftermarket hard pipes.

Same thing happened to me over the weekend. Same connection. Get some t-bolt clamps and tighten down the clamps real good. Also, use hairspray in between the hose and the IC pipe to keep the hose from sliding off. I have them but they weren't tight enough. Do a search on "hoses".
