ACT Clutch and what happened..... :-/

So.. If any of you guys have followed some of my previous posts, I was having some tranni issue.. Well, the tranni finally game out after some hard times. I got my transmission over to a friend of mine; He's been building race engines and tranni's since the 60's and he took a look at my transmission for me.

I have been a big fan of ACT sicne I 1st baught one for my DSM. I have owned about 7 ACT clutch kits myself, several flywheels, and have directed friends to buy them, never with an issue. Unfortunately, tyhis is my 1st time using an ACT clutch in an Evo and I had transmission failure due to it. My tranni-guy took a look at the 2 small holes in the transmission, said the tranni felt great, and then proceeded to tear it down. There was no internal damage at all and infact the holes in the transmission were due to clutch failure.

At the time I was like, "uhhh.... how?" Well, he had me bring him over the clutch and he pointed out 2 things... # 1, the wedge collar, #2, the pressure plate (it twisted a little on one of the side tabs.... not sure what you call the tabs ). Well, to sum things up, I'm a little disappointed because I have been a great fan of ACT and I gotta replace my full clutch kit (which barely has even 2k miles on it) and my tranni.

Does anyone think ACT will help me out here and replace the clutch if I send them the one that failed? I sure hope they will compinsate a little, I have never had to deal with their customer service; as I said... I have always had a good experience with their products (both clutch and flywheels). I'm now in a prediciment of having to replace my transmission, my clutch, and I've been on downtime of about 2 1/2 months....

Many vendors are very helpful...especially if you go to them first before airing your dirty laundry in public. ACT's spearhead on here is very helpful from what I've read in posts...his username escapes me at he moment though...search for an ACT thread and I'm sure you'll find it.

Personally, I would pick up the phone and talk to them about it...ask if you can e-mail a couple of snaps. Be calm and explain the relevant facts. ASK for help...don't DEMAND anything.

Oh no, im not demanding a thing, nor am I saying anything bad about ACT. I stated many times that I have had a GREAT experience with ACT. This is my only problem I've ever had with them, and I'm looking for someone to guide me to them, I think someone from ACT is on the forum so I was hopiong he or she could get back to me on this.

If ACT is willing to help me out that wuld be great, and I would apprecitate it a lot. I am not bashing them one bit. As stated above... I've bought some VERY EXCELLENT productucts form them.

ACT may help, but outside of replacement parts don't expect anything else.

Understandable... If I can just get them to replace my clutch I'd be very thankful. I stand on having to replace the clutch and a $3,000 transmission.. Hopefully they'll help me out with my clutch. I have nothing but good things to say about their products. If this issue is resolved with their assistance, I will be more than happy.
