Title says it all,

Sigfrid

Evo 9 Wr
It's no the same animal. They are both made by FP, but the BR turbo is clipped. I want to know from users how th FP model performs vs a TME or a stock turbo with a 10.5 hot side. Input appreciated. Of course we'll have feedback after my tuning session with before and after dyno charts etc.

I didn't know that detail about the BR 20G having the clipped exhaust wheel blades. That would tend to make it spool a bit slower than the WR, but have a bit better topend flow from reduced backpressure. Anyway, I can't wait to see your results.
Do you plan to do a straight pump gas dyno run?

Wr-9
I do plan on doing a straight 93 octane map. I was going to do a race gas map as well, but my wife was pssed enoug about the turbo purchase, so I cut that out. I am going to the same dyno I used when I got the TME, so it will be apple to apple. Dyno date is October 14th.

Yes, some of the original WR units were clipped... and not to be a dick, but most people wouldn't know it if they were looking at one.

Like Zeus says...it is essentially the same animal(the WR-9 & the 20G-9-5). If the only difference is the clipped turbine, and the one you ordered comes with an unclipped wheel, the difference is minimal. If when you get yours, you were to fully port the exhaust housing, it'll be real close to approximating the effect you'd get from clipping the turbine wheel.
All else being equal, the same turbo with clipped vs. unclipped turbines...The one with the clipped wheel will spool just a tad slower but'll give slightly reduced EGT's, due to less backpressure and will thus have a tiny bit more topend...like maybe 1-1.5 more mph in the quarter(if properly tuned)....infinitesimal.
Unclipped is better for the street and clipped is better for the track.

I have a WR-9 Turbo. It does have the Ti/Al wheel in it and upgraded actuator. The turbine wheel on mine did not appear to be clipped. You can see the numbers it made on a pretty much BPU car, in my signature. Stock FMIC, piping, and airbox. By looking at my engine bay it looks bone stock.

/\ out of curiosity, have you taken your car down the 1/4 TURBODAWG? Would be real curious to see what it trapped at. I made 333whp on a Mustang...and you see what I ran. I am thinking the dyno you were on must be a little higher than average...
