Blow-off Valve suggestions
The only suggestion I've had so far on an aftermarket blow-off valve is to keep it stock, something about this car not idling properly with aftermarket blow-off valves. Anyone have a good experience with an aftermarket blow-off valve? If so, could you please post the manufacturer and model?
I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII, loud is good!
Thanks!

I got a 1g BOV for free, Gus Modded it for 10 bucks, welded up an adapter for free, and it's shut solid to over 30 psi in Gus mode. Tough to beat that value, so I thought I'd throw it out there. Plenty more info in the archives.
if you want it loud, then get an open air filter on the intake. Then get a greddy type-s BOV. That is a loud combo but is still full recirculating so you won't have driveablity issues. I ran that combo and you can definitely hear the whistle/whoosh sound...

What you're calling a blow-off valve is, in reality, a diverter valve, dumping the air back into the intake. Anything that vents to the atmosphere (VTA) runs the risk of affecting the way the car runs. That being said, if you're stuck on the whoosh, the APS BOV diverts some and VTA's some and has had good results. Otherwise on the '03 I'd get a stock MR BOV to retain complete diverter function.
Good luck.
Good luck.

HKS SSQV or there is one by TurboXS called the RFL (really fking loud) but they are both VTA valves.
And its not flutter.. flutter is caused when the valve is adjusted to tight and is unable to vent properly on partial-throttle lifts.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.

First off, here is the search page:

Secondly, for a DV:
Forge, APS, IX (JDM MR) DV
A better first mod would be a K&N panel filter. But switching to a non-leaky DV would be 2nd. If you are doing it for the sound - get a Honda.
