Hello...

some months ago I ordered a true GARRETT .82ar turbine housing for my GT3071.

As it was arrived, I immediately noticed that there was not any "GARRETT" mark on it.

I wrote to the supplier, and he told that that was a true Garrett.

A week ago I went to my friend to remove the .63 from my turbo, I started to remove all the marks from the new .82 turbine ( and in fact I removed the ".82" mark... ) when he told me to immediately stop to work because that was NOT a true Garrett one !

Could you please tell me if it is or it is not ?

Looks like it's nickle plated, appears good quality though

 

It's HPC coated....

and unfortunately even INSIDE !

And AFAIK it's a BAD thing to coat the inside...

 

What are the other markings on the housing? I would look those up. but it "looks" like a garret housing but I know they dont coat their housings in house. so most likely its not a garrett

as you can see, there are some numbers, 991 - 90, under the "A/R 0.82" mark that I deleted...
