boost trouble
boost trouble
so i put my hallman mbc off my old evo 8 into my new evo 9 and i hit 30PSI!!! so i figure the hoses are backwards after i find out the screw on the boost controller didn't lower or raise it al all , so i switch the hoses around and it peaks at 12 psi max with the controller turn al the way up and down , so i figure that the mbc is broken then when i put the hoses back on the stock boost solenoid it only peaks at 12 psi still.
any suggestions?
any suggestions?
on my mbc with the hoses hooked up id either hit 30 psi , then switched id peak 12 psi with no change in psi on both when i turn the nob on it , now im on my stock solenoid and it only pushses 12 psi
When you put the stock “T” with the hoses on. Make sure to put the side that has the restrictor on the compressor side. If you push on the hoses you will notice there is something in one of them. Make sure it is on the compressor side.

You likely screwed up the MBC install, but you DEFINITELY screwed up the stock boost install. The OEM lines MUST be put back in their exact original configuration, else you get base wastegate pressure, which is 11psi (12psi means your gauge is 1psi off).
1) MBC must be using fresh, clean hoses - not OEM - with one hose going from the bottom nipple of the MBC to the turbo nipple, and the side nipple of the MBC going to the WGA.
2) On the stock system, the OEM lines must be used, because there are 2 hoses with restrictor pills: one in the long hose going from the BCS to the tee, and one in the short hose going from the tee to the turbo (compressor outlet) nipple. The short hose going to the WGA should have a red-painted tip.
