It's a *****! Be prepared for a good two days of cursing.
Read this; http://evomoto.com/tech_info.php?tPa...0bb96d0c2b8a0e
Use a good jack and a buddy to wrangle the tranny back in.
Use air tools or have a good collection of 1/2 and 3/8 inch socket extentions
Do the slide hammer thingy for the output shaft.
evomrguy (evotuners/socalevo) was able to compress the marcel spring with a small pry bar then did the screwdiver trick to release the throwout bearing (your going to love that little hole). The hold the lever and screwdriver method wasn't working.
You don't have to remove the rear motor mount bracket on the tranny, just drain the radiator, undo the lower radiator hose clamp, and bend the hose up and out the way.
Tie some rags around the drivers side caliper. You will hit it.
The tranfer case isn't fun to line up either.
Get a flywheel wrench if you don't have air tools.
Damn I need to get busy on my write up.

take your time... if you hurry you will miss stuff. if there is going to be more then just you working on the car, and if it going to take more then a single day, you should ziplock bag and label EVERY bolt. cause it really sucks when you get done and have 1 or 2 left.

get new flywheel bolts now! I'm assuming you will be replacing the flywheel. Very few dealers stock the flywheel bolts, and it takes about 3 days for them to get them.

I agree. The second time I replaced the clutch, I slightly rounded a couple and had to dremel one of the bolt heads off as they are torqued down to about 95ft/lbs. I had to drive 200 miles to the nearest mitsu dealership that had them in stock.

Make sure you have a buddy helping, and I'd recommend jacking up the car evenly as when you remove 3 of the motor mounts everything shifts. If the car is only jacked up in the front, the motor will want to shift towards the firewall. Then you have to dick with jacks to try to even everything out. The tranny is really difficult to line up and mate back with the engine if its not level.

Good luck.

P.S. Make sure you have at least a 12-pack.

I did mine mysyelf on a lift with the proper tools and I'd like to think I am pretty decent in the shop if I do say so myself.

my advice to you ...

pay someone to install it for you.

And don't fu(k around with an ACT, if you plan on making a lot of power any time soon, just buy the Exedy Twin Cerametallic and do it right from the beginning.

my exedy should be here tomorrow. Do i need to get my flywheel resurfaced? Cause i'm not going to get a new one. i could be wronge but i don't see that much of a benefit in a lighter flywheel. considering i'm going to stay below 350whp.

Absolutely get your flywheel resurfaced or buy a new one (stocker is ok). I didn't want to wait around for the flywheel to get resurfaced, so I just ponied up for a new one to cut install time.

There's too much labor that goes into getting the transmission out to take the risk of the flywheel being ok. You'll be kicking yourself if you get it all back together and the flywheel wasn't perfect. Flywheels are relatively cheap. This has to be the hardest clutch install of any car out there. I changed mine out by myself, on jackstands in my garage. I'm paying someone else to do it next time.
