searched and everything still nothing.......

I get a very very random spudder i guess you would call it when just cruising NOT in boost at all.......when it first orginally happens i throw a p0300 code changed plugs a million times differnet gaps diffrenet plugs......the spudder is kind of described as when im driving down the road at about 5000 rpms in 3rd gear no boost it seems to hesitate kind of like when your intercooler hose pops off.....but then when i let go of the acclerator and get back on it and get into boost everything is fine it just seems to happen when im just crusing not in boost at all and it is getting very annoying....please someone give me some suggestions where to start......thanks

How are you at 5000rpm in 3rd and accelerating but not boosting at all? Do you really hold down the accelerator that long at very low throttle?

Well he doesnt really say that he is accelerating at 5000rpms. He just says he is cruising down a road at 5000. He could be just in gear and hes rolling, or he could be accelerating very slightly and not be in boost. We obviously need more info.
btw, a po300 is a generic code. I am sure it said misfire as well however, it may not be due to the plugs. It could be other things as well hence the reason for the po300.

Search 'p0300'. It is a generic code but every possible reason it can come up has been posted since 03'. The definitive diagnose and TSB regarding the chronic P0300 is tranny noise setting of the nock sensor and sending the ECU into limp mode. It's a tough intuitive connection to make, but you will see many "I changed my clutch now p0300!!?" threads, and "tried everything then rebuilt tranny, p0300 gone, threads.

It sounds like you may have eliminated plugs, it could still be ignition related but, with an 03' tranny and t-case I'd look there.

well i just got flashed by ams.......automotorsports that is......i got the p0300 flash from mitsu and i still had problems....cause i think the p0300 reflash has no mechanical problems when it comes on it just comes on mine has the spudder issue....and what you mean by eliminated plugs??? and im also confused what you mean by searching about the 03 tranny t/c.......also im running the greddy type rs but i had the stocker on there to try that and still had it so im just confused and getting very annoying i dont dare take it to the dealership though......and everytime it happens noone is around that i can show :-(

he meant that you eliminated the spark plugs as being the problem.

Seems like a boost leak somewhere or a surging problem. Pressure test and report back.

actually think i found the culprit cause everytime it happens i go REAL lean on my wideband i think it might be a fuel pump right now i have the walbro.......so i will try to replace that see how it goes and its no boost leak cause it happens when not in boost thanks though

I had the same exact thing happen to me on my way to Nopi out of nowhere. I've gotten the P0300 code before, and it never did this. Suddenly, after my reflash, it began doing it. Got annoying, so at our next pit stop, I reset the computer by pulling the negative battery cable for a few minutes. Honestly, haven't had the problem since! The car ran awesome the rest of the weekend and since then!

Every car is different, so continue to check your fuel pump and plugs as well.

This sounds like it is very close to the problem I had with my first Evo. It would only do it in 3rd and 4th gears in a certain RPM range.

They replaced god knows how many parts and covered everything from the fuel, ignition, electrical, and turbo systems. It was never fixed.

Finally they tracked it down to a harmonic from the transmission that the knock sensor was interpreting as detonation. It makes sense when you think that 3rd and 4th on the same shaft in trans. and it is only doing it in those gears.

i've been hearing more and more about transmissions causing this problem. what can you do fix it without overhauling your tranny?
