Tighten it. I let all the discussion about the brass construction scare me into undertightening it. I used a pair of channel lock pliers with some tape over them so the teeth wouldn't cut into the valve. So far, no drips...

Nice customer service from Fumoto, and thanks for the replies to this thread.

Cool thanks for the reply! Will install mine this week.

Installed mine at the last oil change - works like a charm and no leaks. I tightened with a pair of pliers.

you do no need to change the plug that often that is throwing away money...why would you ever do that

you just have to replace the crush washer

and your oil isn't even getting broken in fully at 2k miles

it's synthetic even under EXTREME driving conditions you shouldn't change it before 3k

mobil1 oil in our cars is good for 5k miles

Since this thread is back form the dead... Do we need the adapter thing with the Fumoto valve or just the valve is self? The part number is F-106 right? Also, where's the cheapest place to get it?

i've had mine on my car 2 years, no problems. i used the composite washer that came with the valve. if you didn't get the washer with the valve, i'm sure they will send you another one. it's worth it to get the washer, install it and then you can forget about it.

So you only need the valve itself and the washer? No need for the extra adapter they sell for like $6?

Been using this on my Galant VR4 , S2000, and Evolution..never had a problem...its nice if you overfilled the oil by accident, you can drain it back to the correct oil level. You can drain it fast or slow by controlling the valve....try doing that with the standard drain bolt.

Funny how people laugh when I ask this question, thats why I stopped..because it was all negative hype. How many time have you touched HOT oil...not fun right...this is a twist of a ball bearing sprung loaded valve, oil will never touch you again....and yes its made in JAPAN
