This guy does not even own an Evo yet, are you seriously trying to sell him a clutch before he gets the car. Its one thing if he is interested buying a clutch but wow this is really a shameless plug.

Clutch holding capacity should be rated in terms of torque. How much torque can the stock clutch hold... maximum? Not sure as most people upgrade them accordingly. Some larger turbos will put down 550whp with low 400s torque for instance, thats why the stock might be able to hold off on that for a little while. 500tq... no way.

Yea. SO what clutch do you guys reccomend for a stock long block car with 272, aem, 850s, fmic, some sort of intake manifold, and a gt40r running low boost. ?

Well if you plan on running any high boost youre going to have to change the clutch to handle that, so you should probably get the one thats going to max your setup

Well i dont wanna tell you what to do but the GT40R on a 2.0 on pump is going to be so awful to drive. If youre looking for crazy pump numbers Id check out the 37R.

Back to the clutch though.... Id say torque is going to be low since its so big... like lucky to hit 400ft/lb so an ACT should definitely suffice since it can hold around 470ft/lb or around there.

ACTs are NOTORIOUS for high-rev lockout even after multiple adjustments; where when you attempt to shift at high revs and the clutch literally "locks" you out of the gear. I have driven a friends ACT equipped and adjusted EVO and yes the pedal placement is nice, along with the HP rating, but the lockout really makes me shy away from ACTs (along with needing to remove the clutch limit pill from the slave cylinder).

Hmm I really dont care much for quick spool. I have a T88 on a 2.2 as my racecar. The 37R sounds intresting though. Any more info on it ?

Thats seems to be an issue of the past. Is his clutch restrictor removed?

I was afraid of this too but I got the ACT anyway. Ive never once have had a problem with shifting at 7500+

Here is a small example Shifting at 7600 - FAST

Buschur has made like 515whp on his MUSTANG DYNO on the 37R with full supporting mods. It made great TQ too.

That is going to be major overkill for him since he doesnt plan on running any high boost. ACT will be MORE than enough in his application.
