How many of you started hitting the throttle hard after the 600mi breaking period? How many of you still breaking the car in after the 600mi breakin period from mitsubishi. I personally am waiting until after 1000 miles to even start hitting the throttle hard and taking it to higher rpm ranges. Till then, I'm still kinda taking it easy so the engine breakin in sits well. How are you guys doing your break in?

 

I feel a propper break in is very important for such a high HP per Liter engine. I am going 1000 myself, and I have already changed the oil at 500 miles, then I will again at 1500, then 3000 then every 3000 there after. I have found this to show consistantly higher dyno runs on my past turbo charged cars compared to my friends with the same car with no break in and fewer oil changes. May be luck, but its worked in the past and will keep doing it. at around 1500 miles I plan on dumping my tranny fluid and dropping in Amsoil gear oil. Call it being overly cautious but its my baby.
