A little help if you please...

I did try searching, but didn't find anything really conclusive.

As you can see in my details, I have an 06 GG MR. By looking at the conversion chart I found online, I typically consistently boost like 18psi.

My buddy bought an Evo 8, and installed his EBC. The car had a nice MBC on it when he bought it. I'd like to put it on my car.

Now my question is, how much boost is safe for the stock ECU without a reflash. I have heard 20-21 psi is okay. I currently have a drop in filter, an induction cover, and a nisei licp on order. I want to have a little bit more power (dyno'd 282 hp/ 272 tq last weekend) but not compromise the limits of the ecu.

Thanks for all input, including flaming.

What you said is perfectly fine man. 20 to 21lbs is perfectly fine.

Definitely aim for a tune if possible and get a turbo-back for best results if the funds permit.

Well I have to convert it because of the stock boost guage is in bar, not psi. But usually I'm at like 1.2 bar or so, which is approximately 18-19 psi.

Stock boost should be cut a lil by the ecu as it runs up to redline too, even if you were to run stock boost on a MBC it should make your car feel like its not running out of breath.

20-21 is fine for a IX with those mods. That is what I have my AMS tuned IX at.
