I'm confused in the link it says its still running?

Usually grenaded means pistons go through the oilpan. My guess is as good as yours as to what broke

Just running on a hunch since alot of people have destroyed their Tranfercases there is a good possibility of the TC being a culprit in your case.

Though its worthy to point out you haven't said what noises, if any the car makes when you tried to go forward again.

On that note does it make hideous noises being pushed

Did you see any oil near the TC case and tranny? The black smoke could have been tranny oil splattering on the exhaust.

Thanks Creamo! I don't know what broke yet. It can go into all gears, once the clutch is out, NO LOAD from the motor, ALL gears are the same way. I will let the driver elaborate more on it. there is a slight "clunking" when in gear, and foot off the clutch, car just WONT move! Everything looks good under the car, driveshafts and all, no fluids leaking and the "Black plume" could have been the friction material in the clutch, no?

Hello again my friend!! I am going to keep plugging away with the car, It is on jackstands over the winter anyway, time to "tweak" it some more. The car and I have been thru alot, this is just "another hurdle" I have to jump over. So that makes a spun rod bearing and this in one year!!! No problem,it could be minor!

Its definitely possible curious to what kind of clutch setup you were running

Maybe you shattered the clutch plate which could explain the loud pop.

Best of luck to you
