The boost should not drop. Do a proper boost leak check on the entire system and you should find the problem. The pipe will not drop boost without something else being changed or a leak. Are you sure someone didn't turn the boost down?

I didn't watch them install it, but as far as I know, they didn't touch the boost settings. So, a larger diameter licp should not drop boost whatsoever?

Damn, well guys, I went and talked to the shop that installed the licp. They told me that it's normal for boost to drop a couple psi after install because of the piping being larger diameter. Does that sound right to you guys?
Sounds like BS to me, even though the new LICP may be a slightly larger diameter than stock it's also significantly shorter than stock. Less volume = less pressure drop. You should see the same amount of boost in the same given conditions. Maybe even a small increase.

I would say in the case of this lower i/c pipe being as short as it is that you should see absolutely NO loss in boost pressure.

i thought it was normal for your boost to spike a little in 5th because of more load. mine does it to until im in the higher rpm range.

Well, I tweaked my mbc a little and it seems to be holding just fine. Still a little odd that it dropped to begin with.
