Loud exhaust pops in between shifts?

So ever since i got the Walboro and a re-tune, everytime i shift real fast, the car gets loud backfires...I was at the track last friday and everyone told me i was shooting orange flames out when i shifted from 1-2 and 3-4..Whats the cause for this? The car has a 11.5-11.6 A/F across the board

Same here. Myne started when I added my turbo back exhaust. I always thought it was because our cars run so rich it was burning the extra fuel in the exhaust.

Do you find it only happens at real high rpms?

Are you flatshifting 1/2 and 3/4?
If so then thats the reason.

High RPM, the ecu first cuts the ignition when it initially hits the limiter. Therefore overfueling occurs. Hence pop and flamage.

Do you mean powershifting? If so, the answer is no. I lift on every gear

It's just a backfire. Generally from any combination of running rich and having a big exhaust. Not having a cat makes it more pronounced.

Sorry...yeah Powershifting/flatshifting/no-lift-to-shift....all the same thing.

I'm only guessing here, but perhaps the ecu isn't reacting quick enough too shut off injectors when you lift off, hence a little overfueling is happening since they're firing flat out at high rpm.
Only a guess though...sorry.

Sounds like an exhaust leak.

Catless this'll happen. Seen this at the track repeatedly on other cars with stage 1 cars (exhaust/tune) that are catless when letting off at high rpms. Happens.
