Average costs of machine work to build a 4g63

I assume that balencing the rotating assembly for a stroker kit is a neccesity Right? What other machine work is neccesary and what are the average costs? This is assuming a good block. Should the block be decked? O ring the block or Head? Looking to get an idea what I am going to need to budget for machine work? Thanks

It all depends on what you want done.

1. If you want the motor bored out...you need to find a place that uses a torque plate for final hone...dont know cost on this

2. Balancing....most parts are already balanced when you go forged. You just need to balance the assembly with the flywheel....around $175-200

3. 4G64 block...do you want to use oil squirters? around $200

4. Crank in good shape? Do you need to go oversize on the bearings? Never had it done..so I cant say on the cost.

5. Deck the block? Yes...you want a true surface. Again...I cant say.

6. O-ring the block....this depends on the boost you plan to run...around $175-200

Most of the time you just purchase the short-block and have whoever build it do all the work and the price is all rolled into one. I would figure around $800-1000 for basic machine shop work. Oringing and that type of added work is always extra. Sorry I cant bee of more help with prices. Did you blow up your engine or something?

remember to get a true balanced motor you need to include everything on the rotating assembly. That includes the crank pulley, timing belt gear, bolts, flywheel, flywheel bolts etc.. everything should be weighed. As for machine work it really depends on the shop. I had my parts balanced for about 150 dollars. I also got a quote for the squirters for 100 dollars as long as i provided the parts.

not sure exactly what was done, but I paid about $650 for all the machine work on my 2.4l.
