clutch adjustment

k... i have an 04 8 with the act extreme cerametallic 6 puck clutch... i'm adjusting it cause when i had it installed (i didn't install it, that's a bit beyond me at this point), with the clutch all the way in the car was rolling cause it was still engaged... i turned the rod about 3/4-1 full turn clockwise, now it doesn't roll and it goes into gear easily, which is what i was aiming for, but it doesn't engage until the pedal is almost all the way out, so i'm about to readjust it.... here's my question:
what exactly am i aiming for here?? how do i know when i have it right?? should there be a certain number of thread on the rod out from the pedal??

any help will be greatly appreciated....

There is a really good thread about clutch adjustment made not that long ago. Shoot for 1/4 to 1/3 pedal travel for engagement and disengagement. It is really up to you and what feels right. You seem to be very close.
