The point of meth is to get away with running more boost. Cams let you move more air without having to run more boost.

Cams provide what I call free HP. When you can move more air without raising boost, you don't get an increased tendency to knock. Raising boost on the other hand increases heat, which increases knock as well as airflow/power. Airflow is power, boost is heat. Intake manifolds and increased displacement are other popular methods of increasing airflow without raising boost, and both have done very well for me in the past.

Back to the cams, when I went to the 272s I picked up a solid 3 lbs/min airflow at the same boost level, which is consistent with what I have measured on the DSMs. That translated into 3 mph at the traps, as usual. Cams are good for solid reliable HP increase on a daily basis. Meth is more suited to wringing the last bit out of a turbo, or running higher than normal boost on pump gas and is the last thing I would do. It's like the nitrous vs FI arguement IMO. The cams are "always on." My 2 cents.

On the other hand you cannot run the same timing numbers on many types of aftermarket cams as you can on stock cams. There are some cam combos that need less timing than stock in order not to knock.

Just throwing a curve ball in your game.

Cams w/ head studs. How are you going to run alky at 27-30 psi without having some head work done? Come on now...

Water Injen? Is that a new part by Injen?

Which one of what do we think is better? I don't see two things to choose from. The thread is asking about cams first or meth injection. The term meth can be substituted with alky, water, washer fluid, whatever...water won't make nearly as much power, so we usually use 100% alky or 100% meth.

I think he should use goat milk injection. Injen has a new kit coming out.

I am doing my head gasket in a few days, so while i am in there i should be doing cams? Also do all cams need to upgrade the valve train?

That certainly would be a good time to do the cams, since most of the work is already being done. As far as upgrading the valve train, that depends on the cams you choose. Check with the manufacturer/vendor/other users.
