Exhaust Manifolds for IX

Search is broken

Could anyone please let me know which tubular exhaust manifolds will fit an IX? I've seen a few different cars here with them ... usually Megan or Full Race ... but I can't seem to find a listing on any parts sites that mention fitment on an IX.

I'm also not sure of all of the differences between the VIII and IX turbos. I know that the IX uses a twin-scroll design, and I'm not sure if the VIII does as well. I'm sure knowing about this would help me find a manifold.

Thanks for any help you can give.

So both have the twin scroll design then? That's good to know. Thanks!

So, I'll need to get IX specific IC piping, but nothing on the exhaust side is different. Got ya.

Or, wait ... did you mean the turbo outlet on intake or exhaust side?

the ams licp also fits the ix ... but yes in theory you will need a ix specific licp, i would prefer to call it a confirmed fitment for the ix since most are still advertised for the viii but fit

Your best bet for a manifold if your keeping your stock turbo is just to port and coat the stocker. If you don't have the Know how burschur P&C faily cheap.

Yeah, there's no need in worrying about what fits, because you should only use your stock manifold and get it ported/coated.

Thanks for the input Warr, but it's only a couple hundred bucks and it looks much better than a stock manifold. Power + looks is a win win in my opinion.

But you make less power with the tubular manifold unless you pay $900 for the Full-Race one, it will be prone to cracking, and there are no looks after a month of it getting hot. The coated stock manifold looks pretty good, too, but I'm guessing you've never seen a Megan manifold after it gets hot - it becomes a brownish-blue mix of nastiness.

If you want to make less power, spend more money, risk it cracking, and look good for only month, then an aftermarket tubular manifold is the way to go.

You just made this post in another thread about boost controllers ...

OP, the most used is the Forge UNOS MBC, followed closely by the Hallman Pro.
I asked what fits, not your opinion on what is better.

Other than that, thanks again for your input. Yes, I've seen a Megan manifold that is discolored. I don't see any reason that it would crack unless it's paired with a DP w/o a flex section. If you take the flex out of the exhaust, then yes, I can see a tubular manifold being prone to cracking.

Ya know, that's EXACTLY what I want!
