Man I wish someone would rock these into a IX. I'd be up for a guinea pig test if I lived closer to an installer/tuner.

Bump for anyone with Kelfords in a Mivec IX.......

FWIW I was looking into the Kelford 280/284 cams for my IX. I found out Kelford makes cams for GSC. I contacted GSC to find out what the differance was between their S3's and Kelford's 280/284's. Basically the Kelfords work well on a 2.0L, but on a stroker might not be the best. Since I am stroking the motor, 97mm crank, I decided to go with the S3's. They are custom ground for whatever head work you have done, motor, turbo, powerband, boost, everything. Tell them what you have and they custom grind cams for your specific application. IMO cant get any better than that, and since their made by Kelford you know their gonna be great quality.

I don't however know about the 264's or 272's, I'd say if your planning on staying at stock displacement, give em a try. Or go with GSC's which are basically Kelfords but made more for our (USA) tuning habits.

My $.02

Actually, a quick look at the specs shows the opposite to be far more likely. The advanced LCs and short effective duration of the Kelford cams appear to be suited toward a long stroke, lower rpm stroker engine with a ported head and moderately sized turbo.

I probly should clarify, the specs listed above are for the VIII. The cams I had inquired about were the 280/284 cams for the IX. When I asked about these specific cams, that was the answer I got. So as far as matching them to displacement, the 280/284's for the IX are made for a high revving 2.0L with a big turbo. I never asked about any of their other sets so I cant comment on them.

Sorry for any confusion.

Not really, not enough duration for serious high rpm use. Also, the VIII and IX cams appear to be almost the same spec, FWIW.

Just FYI.
