Alright here is some stuff going on with my Evo 8. I got a complete engine rebuilt by AMS in chicago and i might be having some tranny probs. I just installed a spec stage 2+ and flywheel. when i am driving it feels like i am slipping until i hit 4th or 5th gear and below 4000 rpm in 1,2,3 gears.

I need to upgrade my timing belt tensioner but can only find stock any one know where i canm get an upgrade?

If it's slipping, it should slip in higher gears where there is more load. What you describe is the opposite of what a slipping clutch does - no clue what could cause that.

Call Buschur about the tensioner, but not sure if you'd need to upgrade that.

I dunno if this is any help but I've had a clutch grab then slip like I had down shifted, rev for a couple of seconds to a higher rpm and then grab again. When I pulled the clutch apart I was down to rivets on flywheel. In this condition it would do this in lower gears but just plain slip in higher gears. I'd say anytime your tach doesn't agree with your speedometer you have clutch problems.
