Need Help: Shift Knob and Boot

Hi, I am a new owner of an awsome ix evo. The only thing that I hate about the ix versus the mr version is that it's shift knob and shift boot doesn't look all that great. I am sure everyone knows how the 5-spd ix shift knob and boot looks like. I would like to change the boot to look like the fq and mr models. Is there a way to do that? The shift knob is not much of a problem, it's the boot that i hate. Can I just get the MR boot from the factory and install it to the ix. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

How to change it to look something like this....

I think you'd have to get the console panel+shift boot togather.

If you're looking for a nice shifter boot replacement, try redlinegoods.com. They will custom make a replacement in leather or alcantara. You can also pick the stitching color. They're $40. I have black leather/silver stitching, but I'm planning to switch to black alcantara/red stitching to match the IX interior.

That aluminum thing is the reverse lockout for the six speed trans,it part of the whole shift mechanism it dosen't just hold the boot up.

Does the shift boot from redlinegoods.com fit on the 6 speeds?
