New Tubo..how long before I need to tune?
Here is my situation. I want to get a turbo kit, however I want to also get my car tuned by Al (Dynoflash). My question is if I bought a kit and put it on, what changes could be safely made to my boost to feel a slight increase in power until Al comes to visit near where I live again?
You would definately have to have some way to turn the boost down. Also running the turbo kit at lower boost levels will result perhaps in lower power levels.
What turbokit are you getting?
Al was here in Tucson in April and he tuned a Evo 8 with a GT30R and all the mods that goes along with it. Al managed to squeeze 69whp out his tune. That is not bad considering that the Evo Owner had the wrong sparplugs.
This Evo 8 with the GT30R drove into the dyno with a little over 220whp.

II have my eye on a BR440 kit someone on the forum is selling.
i wouldnt chance driving around with a big turbo kit with out some kind of tuning. recipe for catostrophis failure. yeah you could turn the boost down to reasonable levels and drive on it for necesity but i wouldnt push the envelope. plus the reason you changed your turbo is for bigger gains. well you cant push it to that limit till you tune for it. safe and reliable.car aint no fun if u cxant drive the hell out of it and feel completely safe doing it. piece of mind is a hell of a thing. be safe and good luck

You are even more right. I will just wait on it. Thanks
I would personally drive around with the stocker and wait until you get the tuning then have the turbokit installed just before the tuning.
Vey often turbokits untuned run worst than the stock turbo.
My .2c

Hook a boost signal straight to the gate. The car will run about 13 psi.
