buschur ic's

is the race ic to big for the stock turbo. i was being told that the race ic will over work the turbo, i run alot of race gas 27+ psi
i have a chance at the delux buschur intercooler for cheap but i dont want to waist my time if i would be better off jus buying the race intercooler
thanks fellas

I hear big intercoolers actually effect stock turbos negatively. I don't know too much about it. Better PM a BR representative.

Absolutely NOT to big for the stock turbo. The deluxe is good but the race is great.

Anytime I personally recommend an intercooler I recommend the race as the first choice and work down from there if I have to.

Well I put on a Race FMIC on my friends EVO (YellowEVO21) and he had considerable lag after the install, while my Deluxe, I felt none of it. I dont think the race is absolutely necessary unless going to a bigger turboi but the man above says its great so I dont know. I know Im sticking with my Deluxe

No superflyevo, I have not noticed any change in lag with any of the larger FMIC's, only an increase in power throughout the entire RPM range. The lag increase is from a boost leak in my opinion. Haven't seen it in datalogs (extra lag) haven't seen it in dyno graphs and haven't felt it in my butt dyno.

After I installed my Race Mount I didn't notice any lag what so ever. I make full boost by 2800.
The fitment of the cooler was perfect... I even used my crash bar.

Trust me when I say this... the BR Race Mount Cooler is hands down the BEST money can buy!

I dunno, myself and James (YellowEVO21) both felt it caused more lag. I did a boost test right after installing it.

When there's 22psi in the system and you hear nothing... its not leaking. His car has more lag. I dont see how one could say there isnt. It dwarfs the stock FMIC. Thats a lot of space to fill.

just cause you don't hear a leak DOESN"T mean there isn't one

I dont know if your being sarcastic but thats the whole point of a boost test. Ive done hundreds of boost tests since I had my DSM when I was 17. The car had no boost leaks. Period. If it did have one that I couldnt here, it was so negligible it would not affect spool up or top end power.
