ok the hereis my take on it

cos the sequential is blow shut you need more vacum than boost to open it properly, but max theoretical vacum is 1 bar and less of course if you only lift partly so if you have more than 1 bar pushing it closed then it not keen to open so works well only up to about 1 bar above this only opens if u lift off sharply

hks have racing type for high boost applications which is just conventional type

standard e6 bov is closed by boost in control line + spring against boost pushing it open so will not leak at WOT where boost in control line is close to boost in pipes

will be open at part throttle so gives the impression of working less well but in reality just makes the throttle response more linear ie full boost = full throttle rather than full boost = half throttle

if u are drag racing then it will take fractionly longer for boost to rise due to time it takes to get the throttle down after changes and time for boost to build in the control line and close valve so u can simply reverse it here

but for in the twisties where there are occasions when u want to modulate the power then standard way works best

claudius - yeah anti lag really need to open and close sas at appropriate times to complete, need two pressure switches one that closes with boost in pipes and one that opens with boost in plenum, wire in series so when vacum in plenum and boost in pipes then sas solinoid opens and blows air into exhaust, once boost gone in pipes or boost in plenum then deactivates again

need adjustable ones so that u can set the pressure levels

launch control u can get an add on box for this activated by a switch on the clutch, basically when clutch is down u set a rev limit on the box and then floor it and it holds this rpm by miss firing the engine, does actually build some boost (approx 1/2 bar) and then just side step the clutch

also allows you to flat shift ie no need to lift the throttle

Ok, thanks Andrew. I think I'll check it ASAP and see what happens if I clean it etc... If not, I'll just get a new BOV, probably Forge. My BOV is also an HKS, but recirculating and I know it's supposed to flutter when opening, but the fluttering that I explained here just started a little while ago and got worse.

I run the Forge recirc. dump valve and I'm very pleased with it. Compared the the standard one which I used reversed mounted it's smother and better responding after lifting off or shifting. Fitting took 5 minutes, quality is very good and you can rebuild it when the spring has become weaker over time.
