high boost on evo!!!

what is the safest highest boost the evo can handle

I heard you can go as high as 1500lbs if you get the diamond block and head and use the depleted uranium head gasket...

basically, (holding back my sarcasim) there is no easy answer. It all depends on what other modifications and tuning you do.

stock turbo? stock internals? what type of gas are you running? there are many qualifiers that need answereing before this question can be answered.

do a couple of searches here - more then one tuner shop has started pushing a mostly stock Evo pretty hard. If I remember correctly 20 psi seems to be about max the stock snail will accept efficently.

A 16g turbo should handle 24-25 psi without problem. Now, that's not saying the turbo is still efficient at the boost, clearly it's not, however there are other means of dealing with the heat produced by it such as race fuel, larger IC, etc. Bottom line is the turbo will flow 38 lbs/min or thereabouts, similar to what I see on my 16g powered '95 Talon over 20 psi.
